A wedding that feels like you, with choices that work together
A personal wedding grows from a few shared priorities rather than the largest possible collection of separate purchases. Once you know the day you want, choices about the venue, food, and program can support one another.
Name what matters most
Discuss each partner’s wishes and choose shared priorities. They might be unhurried time together, good food, dancing, or a small group of close guests. Also identify things you do not need simply for tradition’s sake.
Use those priorities to allocate the budget. If the evening centers on music, the space and schedule need to allow for it. If relaxed dining is the priority, an overly busy program may work against that goal.
Bring purchases into one coherent plan
Create a brief description of the atmosphere, colors, and practical arrangements. Share the same essential information with the planner, venue, and other providers. Explain what interests you in inspiration images without requiring a copy of the entire scene.
Assess each new purchase by asking what it adds to the day and who will handle it. Even homemade decorations take time to transport, hang, and remove.
Leave room to enjoy the day
Name a practical contact so every supplier question does not reach the couple. Allow for transitions, meals, and quiet moments rather than scheduling one activity after another.
An event planner can help build the overall plan, while a day-of coordinator can manage delivery. Assess their value through your own time: which tasks do you want to do, and where would professional help let you enjoy the celebration?
