Plan product photography for your online store
Online-store product photos help customers assess an item before buying. Alongside a consistent main image, include views showing essential details, scale, and use.
Define image sets by product category
List the views each category needs. Clothing may emphasize fit and fabric, furniture proportions and details, and a small product what comes in the package. Different customer questions may call for different image sets.
Ask the photographer how main and supporting images should work together. Photos should complement product information rather than leave important features for customers to guess.
Prepare products and identifiers
Supply clean, undamaged products matching the correct variants. Label product IDs, colors, and shooting order. Agree who assembles, irons, or otherwise prepares them.
Request a small trial set before photographing a large volume. Check framing, background, color, and fit in the store’s image layout. Approve the common approach before recurring production begins.
Specify delivery for your store
Define filenames, aspect ratios, sizes, and background versions. Establish the editing scope and how faithful color and material representation will be checked. Product-image editing should not change features that matter to the customer.
Ask how new products will be added later. A documented photography style keeps future images consistent. Include all actual marketing channels, beyond the store itself, in the agreed usage rights.
