Reviewing your quote request in Helmi

Reviewing your quote request is the final step before sending it. Helmi suggests businesses and prepares a draft from your conversation. Check that the request explains your goal and asks for the information you will use to compare the responses.

Can the business understand the result you want?

Read the draft as someone who has not seen the earlier conversation. Does it explain the work, setting, location, and preferred timing? Include why you want the work done: adding storage and preserving the appearance of an old piece of furniture, for example, call for different solutions.

Label estimates as estimates. If you first want planning or an inspection, make that clear so a business can suggest the right first step.

Are the boundaries clear?

Check what you want the business to do and what you will arrange yourself. In event catering, food, dishes, serving staff, and cleanup can be separate packages. In a renovation, materials you buy yourself affect what the contractor needs to quote for.

Explain what remains open. If you have not chosen a material or approach, ask for a recommendation and the reasons behind it. The way a business addresses your project’s particular requirements also shows its expertise.

Which answers will help you choose?

Include the questions that matter to your decision. For example:

  • What does the proposed work include, and what is excluded?
  • What experience does the business have with similar jobs?
  • How is the price calculated, and what information is needed to make it more precise?
  • What schedule would be possible?
  • Is a site visit or planning needed before a quote can be provided?

Asking each business the same key questions makes it easier to compare the proposals later. A short, focused question list gives providers a clear basis for responding.

Check the details and send

Check your contact information and ask for outdated preferences or incorrect assumptions to be corrected. Keep the information needed to assess the job; arrange sensitive details such as access codes separately later. After any changes, read the entire request once more.

When the content reflects your needs, check the recipients. Use Helmi’s suggested list or add and remove businesses. Send the request with the button in the app; Helmi does not send it without your explicit approval. Track the sending status in your project.

Compare incoming responses in Helmi’s offers view and discuss their differences with Helmi. A well-defined request helps you see how each business’s proposed scope, schedule, and price addresses the same need.
